External Examining
+The Guidelines for External Examiners provide an overview of the key features of the processes relating to external examining of programmes leading to Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) awards and have been written to comply with the LJMU Academic Framework 2012-13, and to align with the UK Quality Code for Higher Education Chapter B7: External examining (revised October 2011).
The guidelines relate to all taught provision at LJMU and its partner institutions, and to all such programmes leading to LJMU awards made by other awarding bodies. Information is provided in the guidelines regarding the key duties and responsibilities of external examiners which should be discussed and agreed at local levels as to how these will be executed.
LJMU external examiners are expected to read this guidance in order to familiarise themselves with the University’s expectations of their role. Please direct any comments or queries about these guidelines to Trish Barker, Head of Quality & Standards (p.m.barker@ljmu.ac.uk)
