Research Seminar Invitation

Alumni are once again invited to attend the Faculty of Education, Community and Leisure's upcoming Research Seminar to be given by Diahann Gallard entitled 'The value and status of animal-related
experiences in English primary schools'.
There is an emerging multi-disciplinary area of study called Anthrozoology that focuses solely on interactions of people and animals.
Diahann has been researching
the educational and developmental values of the relationship between children
and animals, and the status in Primary schools impacting on the provision of
such experiences.
This seminar will
- provide some theoretical underpinnings for the importance (and possible problems) of animal-related activities
- look at the current issues relating to the education system for children in England that impact on access to animal-related learning
