3is - Information, Ideas and Insights
3is – Information, Ideas & Insights
A series of half day workshops that focus on key subjects / issues that face staff who are new to teaching in HE including those in roles where supporting learning is a small part of their work. The workshops will provide staff with the opportunity to discuss their experiences, share ideas and gain some information about a range of techniques and processes that may help them in their teaching.
The workshops cover areas such as: working with large groups, small group teaching, an introduction to assessment, fieldwork, running labs and practicals, etc. For 2010¬11, individuals can attend the sessions on an ad hoc basis or undertake the accredited route to achieve a SEDA Supporting Learning Award. NB: The 3is workshops and in some cases the SEDA route, are now compulsary for postgraduate researchers who teach or support the learning or assessment process.
The programme is also mapped to the national UK Professional Standards Framework and will contribute towards the achievement of Standard Descriptor 1. For more information on the 3is programme, see the Accredited CPD section of the CPD Directory within Blackboard.
