Directorate for Teacher Education and Professional Learning (TEPL)
Directorate activity is advisory to the Dean and FMT and its purpose is to manage and have oversight of statutory requirements for TDA programmes and initiatives. The committee will consider, develop and agree key policy and strategic objectives of Initial Teacher Education and Professional Learning

The Directorate for Teacher Education and Professional Learning will set the strategic direction with respect to:
- Faculty Ofsted Inspection reports and reviews, including the annual Self-Evaluation Document.
- Marketing and recruitment to all UG, PG and CPD programmes
- Identifying and developing opportunities to bid for new initiatives in relation to Teacher Education and Professional Learning.
- Quality assurance and enhancement of procedures and practices and their impact on trainee/student outcomes.
- The strategic use of data to enable effective self-evaluation
- Reports from, and advise on, research/activities/initiatives associated with related stakeholders including, DfE, Ofsted, TDA, SSAT and UCET.

Extended Teacher Education and Professional Learning Directorate
Extended Teacher Education and Professional Learning Directorate will meet to facilitate consultation and dissemination of strategic decisions of key policies and objectives.

The Academic Management Directorate will:
- receive reports from Faculty and university committees and groups such as Faculty Investigatory panel, Academic Appeals and Student Complaints
- Consider, develop and agree upon the management and operation of the student experience via information from centre meetings and other relevant Faculty committees and groups
- monitor and evaluate internal and external benchmark data in order to establish practices that enhance the student experience
- Take a strategic and operational overview on the efficient and effective deployment of all resources to support the enhancement of the student experience
- Take an overview of recruitment, marketing and admissions by using UCAS/GTTR data to identify trend analyses and inform policy and practice
- Develop the Faculty portfolio of provision in relation to programme development and delivery in relation to undergraduate, postgraduate, international and collaborative courses
- Oversee the effective operation of the academic framework and its relationship to enhancing the student experience
- Monitor and evaluate the operation of innovative and effective learning, teaching and assessment opportunities across the Faculty

The Directorate of Research will:
- consider issues arising with respect to research, including those identified by quality assurance processes;
- set strategies and policies for research;
- monitor and make recommendations for the expenditure of research funds;
- receive and respond to initiatives in research;
- monitor research student progress and produce annual reports on research students in the Faculty;
- approve annual plans and reports for research from each UoA;
- produce the annual report on research for the Faculty.
* Elected student representatives shall cease to be members at the termination of their course;
