Biography:

I trained as a Nurse and Midwife before moving on and gaining a BA Social Studies (Politics) from Liverpool Polytechnic and a MA (Econ) Political Development from the University Manchester. I have worked at Liverpool JMU for 20 years where my focus has been on teaching and learning in the areas of health studies and public health.
I was part of a LJMU based team that recently completed an 8 year funded Higher Education (HE) link programme with Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu (Nepal). The second round of funding also brought in Dhaka University (Bangladesh). The focus of these inter-related projects was to facilitate the development of teaching, learning & research in HE and to establish stronger links between HE and other related state and non-state sectors including NGO’s. The focus of the development link was on women/gender, health and education and specifically related to the MDG’s 2, 3 & 5.
