Professional activitiesI am on the Editorial Boards of Scottish Literary Review; The Journal of Stevenson Studies; and the Scottish Cultural Review of Language and Literature; and the Advisory Board of The Carlyle Letters (Edinburgh). I am Chair of the Research Centre for English Literature and Cultural History. I have acted as External Examiner for MA degrees at the University of Glasgow; University of Edinburgh; University of Plymouth and for BA programmes at Bolton and Sunderland. I am currently External Examiner for the MLItt in Modern Scottish Writing, University of Stirling. I have examined doctoral theses for: University of Edinburgh; University of Glasgow; University of Queensland; King’s College London; Strathclyde University and, as an internal examiner, at Liverpool John Moores University. | |||
