Brainwave competition winner announced
31 January 2011
The winner of this year’s Brainwave Idea Competition was recently announced at an event held in the Graduate Development Centre.
The Brainwave Competition was introduced in 2005 by the Student Enterprise team and its aim is to identify innovative and entrepreneurial ideas within the LJMU student community.
The judges were impressed with the breadth and creativity of ideas submitted by students from each Faculty saying that the quality of entries received was the best to date.
The winner of this year’s £250 prize was Toni Hynes, a final year Events Management student. Toni’s idea is for a social enterprise that assists families of prison inmates. She is now working with a business adviser from the Student Enterprise team to develop her winning idea further.
Students attending the event had the opportunity to meet LJMU staff and chat about ways in which they can assist them with developing ideas.
Students wishing to discuss any new business, social enterprise or invention ideas should contact the Student Enterprise team on 0151 231 8060 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a confidential advice meeting.
