LJMU students organise tonight's vintage fashion show
01 March 2012
LJMU Art and Design students are involved in the organisation of tonight’s Ethical Fashion Show to raise funds for Christian Aid.
The event takes place at 7pm at the Liverpool Students’ Union and features up-cycled and recycled designs by LJMU fashion students and local vintage boutiques as well as live entertainment.
Entry is £3 on the door and all proceeds go to Christian Aid.
Over 20 students have helped with the organisation of the event which is the brainchild of LJMU alumnus Jessica Durham. Jessica, 22, graduated with a BA (Hons) in English last year and is currently on a ten-month work placement with Christian Aid. Her role is to engage young people in the issues of global poverty and raise awareness of the charity’s projects and campaigns. She does this in a variety of ways, by speaking in lectures and at careers days but also with the organisation of events such as tonight’s fashion show.
