Theatre in the Makin’ 2012 presents: Breaking The Mould

This Spring, join Liverpool John Moores University Level 6 Drama students as they present the festival that really is breaking the mould!

Seven new plays take to the stage, all created by and starring LJMU students. This is one Liverpool event not to be missed with a range of plays taking place in various venues around the City.

Money Over Life
Created by: Tamsin Cook, Natasia Hodge, Izzy Lim

This original piece of promenade theatre - in the style of a morality game show, will show you just how many ways there are to play. Exploring moral dilemmas and the power of money, with everything to lose and anything to gain.

DEAD - The Murder at Makin Manor

There has been a murder at Makin Manor and the audience investigate in this thrilling genre of Cluedo. Fancy yourself as the next Poirot? With eight potential suspects, who did it? YOU decide.

Long Joan Silver

This pirate themed musical romp takes you on a journey that sees Joan O'Malley transform from a fragile, innocent young girl into the most fearsome pirate ever to sail the seven seas, much to the disapproval of her father Captain O'Malley. With wacky incidents and even wackier characters, this adventure will certainly float your boat.

The Truth Will Out

Running over 5 days, each night a 20 minute episode, exploring the malevolent grip of the media; the nonsense of newspapers, Facebook foolishness, the ridiculousness of reality TV.

Forever And Anon

The theatrical style of Berkoff meets Britain’s most notorious prisoner, 'Charlie Bronson'. See the horror and madness as Bronson's personalities come to life. Are you brave enough to be in the same room?

This Morning Live

This exciting piece of devised theatre will use interactive feeds alongside audience participation to bring you breakfast TV live. Pull up a chair as we explore audience power and media influence.

One of our fringe pieces will invite audiences to come and observe the football computer game, FIFA showing for seven hours! Come and go as you please and see how the virtual match is getting on.

The other half to the fringe sees the Joe H Makin turned into a playground of Mini shows. Running all day within the building, the variety of 5 minute plays is endless.
