LJMU shortlisted for Liverpool City Region Tourism Award

LJMU has been shortlisted for the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards under the Excellence in Business Tourism category.
The awards recognise excellence and quality across the Visitor Economy and celebrate the outstanding work undertaken throughout the tourism industry. The application was compiled by Conference and Event Services, highlighting all areas across the University that are utilised for meetings, conferences and event business.
The first round of assessments included more than 100 entrants for 16 categories. The second round will take place in early May. LJMU is competing under the Excellence in Business Tourism category with 3 other conference venues that have been shortlisted: National Museums Liverpool (Conference & Events), Haydock Park Racecourse and Hilton Liverpool.
The event is organised by the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, Tourist Board for the destination.
The Awards ceremony takes place on the evening of Thursday 14 June at the BT Convention Centre. The winners of 10 categories will go on to represent the area in the VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence.
