Getting Greener campaign
LJMU is getting greener…. and you can do your bit to help reduce the University’s carbon footprint.
Everyone is talking about climate change and carbon management and LJMU is committed to reducing its C02 emissions by 25 per cent by 2015.
But what does this actually mean and how will LJMU monitor and manage its impact on the environment? These web pages are intended to help answer these questions.
From turning off lights in unused rooms to opening the window instead of turning on the air conditioning, or leaving the car at home and getting the bus or train to work instead; small changes can make a big difference.
Isn’t it time we all become agents for positive environmental change at LJMU?
"Good environmental performance makes good business sense. The challenging target of a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions will require strong leadership and commitment from all staff and cannot be achieved without student involvement." Professor Michael Brown, Vice Chancellor and Sir Malcolm Thornton, Chairman, LJMU's Board of Governors
