Breast Cancer Campaign visit LJMU

Professor Andy Young, Director of Research at LJMU, welcomed Arlene Wilkie, the Director of Research and Policy from Breast Cancer Campaign, to LJMU this week.
Arlene visited several researchers at LJMU, who have an interest in various aspects of Breast Cancer research, to discuss the Charity, its funding programmes and how they promote their work and opportunities to research community.
The Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity that specialises in funding independent breast cancer research throughout the UK. They currently support 81 projects worth over £10 million throughout the UK and in 2006 funded 34 new grants (6 PhD studentships, 2 Fellowships, 12 small pilot and 14 project grants) worth over £3.7 Million.
The Charity supports all aspects of research into breast cancer including prevention, causes, diagnosis, treatment and management of breast cancer.
