1. Getting to grips with technology in media

   Pupils from Sacred Heart College, Crosby joined the Media Technology Group of the Dept. of Electronics & Electrical Engineering to learn technical processes for creating TV programmes.

2. £575k boost for student mental health provision in Liverpool

   A partnership featuring Liverpool John Moores University has been awarded £575k worth of funding from the Office for Students for a project to further develop mental health provision for students across Liverpool.

3. Churchill Way Flyovers

   Liverpool City Council will shortly begin the process of demolishing the Churchill Way flyovers.

4. Inquiry offers Truth Project sessions to students

   The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse is inviting students to come forward to take part in its Truth Project at seven universities across the country, including LJMU.

5. Zia Chaudhry MBE is to join Liverpool John Moores University as the Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship

   As Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship, Zia will lead the University’s social engagement activity, building on LJMU’s long history of community engagement and impact, ensuring that the University maintains strong and innovative partnerships with other community organisations.

6. LJMU Lecturer wins national Asian Women of Achievement Award

   Dr Pooja Saini, LJMU Lecturer in Psychology, won the Public Service Award at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2018.

7. Making Liverpool schools sun safe this summer

   Liverpool John Moores University is working with the Skcin cancer charity and the Clare Daly Foundation to roll out the Sun Safe Schools accreditation across primary schools in the Liverpool region, which will benefit up to 10,000 children.

8. Aiding entrepreneurs in North Africa and the Middle-East

   $250,000 grant to Liverpool Business School to create new data for growth and jobs in MENA countries

9. Silver award for support of the Armed Forces

   LJMU has received the silver award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how it provides support to the Armed Forces community.

10. Global themes for Postgraduate Research Festival

    The postgraduate research community from every faculty came together for LJMU’s annual PGR Festival at the Maritime Museum.
