Site is a creative partnership between Liverpool John Moores University’s School of Art and Design and Liverpool Biennial. It is also collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University’s School of Art and Design and The Albert Dock Company.
Site currently occupies The Queen Elizabeth Hall at Liverpool’s historic Albert Dock and acts as an interface between students from Liverpool School of Art and Design, Liverpool Biennial and the work of national and international artists. The high profile location that Site occupies at Liverpool Albert Dock also allows it to function as a unique interface between Liverpool School of Art and Design and the general public.
Site is managed by Martin Downie, Director of Liverpool School of Art and Design and project managed by John Byrne, Senior Lecturer at Liverpool School of Art and Design. Site’s programme is co-curated by John Byrne and Paul Domela, who is Programme Director of Liverpool Biennial.
Site is committed to programming new, creative and innovative work in the field of interdisciplinary art and design.
Site is committed to involving students from Liverpool School of Art and Design to work with Site in new, innovative and creative ways.
Site’s web presence will not only support, display and catalogue the national and international work which goes on at Site physical art and design space, it will also act as an international platform for the work of students and staff at Liverpool School of Art and Design. In the near future, it is hoped that the Site web presence will also act as a focus and intersection for the production, curation, display and evaluation of national and international art and design work in a digital environment.
