Multi-Faith Rooms/Quiet Spaces

The Multi-Faith rooms are designed to be welcoming and accessible spaces for students and staff of all faiths, non-faiths and traditions for prayer or quiet reflection. The spaces also aim to provide a resource for groups of students and staff to meet for spiritual support.

The three new Multi-Faith spaces can be found at the follows locations across the campus:

- The Henry Cotton Building: First Floor

- The John Foster Building: Ground Floor (G19)

- IM Marsh: In the Ian Newman Centre.

In addition to the new spaces being available for student and staff use, the University’s Ecumenical Chaplaincy group will also use the rooms to ensure that they are accessible to students and staff and to provide a focal point for their services.

The spaces also feature artwork along the theme of spirituality, and the artist of all three paintings; Helen Bennett is a former student and employee of LJMU.  The spaces have been designed to allow students the freedom to configure furniture as appropriate for their needs whilst also allowing a degree of comfort.

Please note the following guide for room use:

  •   The Multi-Faith Spaces are available to all staff, students and visitors who would like spaces for prayers or quiet contemplation.
  •   The room is available for all faith and non-faith groups to access.

  •    Please be sensitive to others accessing the facilities at all times; the facility is for everyone to share.

  •    No food is to be eaten in the room and all litter should be removed or placed in the bins provided. Please leave the space in the same condition as you found it.
