Clubs and Competitions
University life is not just about work and studying – you need to factor in time for fun and socialising too
Becoming part of a team or taking part in physical activity can be a great way to unwind, keep fit and meet new people. Liverpool Students’ Union (LSU) offers a range of societies, sports clubs and intramural (competitive) sport.
Whether you're looking for the intensity of a team sport or the individual mental challenge of cross country, there's something for all abilities at LSU: visit their sports pages for a full list.
Popular teams include Men's Football and Women's Hockey, each with three teams in the BUCS league, and Men's Rugby League, currently one of the top performing student rugby league teams in the country.
If you're looking for something fun and different why not give the Trampoline Club, Wakeboarding or the Ski and Snowboard Team a try?
All sports at LJMU are great social activities and most teams have their own Twitter feeds and Facebook pages.
If what you're looking for isn't on offer, why not start your own team? Social sport offers students the opportunity to play the sport of their choice, either competitively or just for fun. Some of the social sports currently on offer include an annual dodgeball tournament and Raveminton – a unique glow-in-the-dark UV badminton played to rave music!
