Current Projects

Dr. Anna Burdina is focusing on the isolation and characterization of adult human cardiac stem cells. She is addressing the effects of small molecules and factors that could promote activation and early differentiation of eCSCs into cardiogenic lineages as well as help maintain them in undifferentiated state in vitro. This research will contribute to a basis for developing regenerative therapies in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.
