Professorship and Readership Conferments 2011

Each year applications are invited from Senior Lecturers, Principal Lecturers and above, as appropriate, for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships.

Professorships will normally be conferred on existing Principal Lecturers and above who have achieved an outstanding record and reputation at national and international level.

Readerships will normally be conferred on existing Senior Lecturers and above, who have achieved a significant record and reputation, although not necessarily at international level.

Briefing sessions

Wednesday 12th January 2011, 12pm - 1pm
Room G.18, James Parsons Building, Byrom Street

Thursday 13th January 2011, 1pm - 2pm
Boardroom, Ground floor, Barkhill Building, I M Marsh Campus

Tuesday 18th January 2011, 12.45pm - 1.45pm
Room G.06, Ground floor, John Foster Building, Mount Pleasant

The purpose of the briefing sessions is to give potential applicants the opportunity, having read the criteria and procedures information and the Frequently Asked Questions page, to ask the Chair of the Conferment Panel any questions they may have regarding their application, in order to ensure the criteria is fully understood and adhered to. 

Please note that if you are unable to attend any of the briefing sessions, you should speak to your Dean in the first instance, and then if you still have any outstanding questions please contact Suzanne Thomson (email: / extension: 3033) as Secretary to the Panel - if she is unable to advise you it may be possible to speak to the Chair of the Conferment Panel separately.
