National Apprenticeship Week

This is the week (7-11 February) when we celebrate the talents and skills of our Apprentices and raise the profile of Apprenticeships amongst employers, stakeholders and the media.

Our main objective in participating in Apprenticeship Week is to engage and persuade employers about the advantages of employing and supporting apprentices in their workplace as well as demonstrating and celebrating the value of Apprenticeships.

The regional working group, formed in 2010 to take forward the promotion and creation of Apprenticeship opportunities on behalf of the North West Universities, will be offering a range of activities during and following National Apprenticeship week aimed at managers from North West HEIs. The events are being organised in collaboration with the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and the North West Apprenticeship Company (NWAC).

A briefing event intended for all managers, HR staff, sub-contractors, and partners will be held at Liverpool John Moores University on Tuesday 10 May from 9.30am to 1.00pm. The aim of the session is to increase awareness of ways that Apprenticeship opportunities can be created, the benefits to the organisation and teams, and how they can be used to support the development of the workforce.
