Kingsway House - swipe card access
25 February 2011
Please note that with effect from Monday 28 February staff will need to use their University pass to access Kingsway House. This decision has been taken to improve security.
Opening hours for the building are 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, with reception staffed between 8am and 6pm. Both staff and students will be able to access the building between these hours using their University pass.
The card readers are positioned to the right of the internal entrance doors.
If you have forgotten your card you will be able to use the intercom located to the right of the internal entrance doors and one of the receptionists will be able to let you in. For access without your pass before 8am or after 6pm you will have to contact a colleague in the building.
Please also note the following points of protocol relating to visitors and students.
- Students who have forgotten their cards may use the intercom. The receptionist will contact the member of staff or the team they are visiting. The student will then be allowed access to the building if appropriate, or they will be asked to wait in the reception area, as agreed with the member of staff or team being visited.
- Visitors with appointments may use the intercom for access and will then be issued with a visitor pass at reception which they must wear at all times and return when they are leaving the building. Once a pass is issued, they will then be allowed access to the building or asked to wait in the reception area, as agreed with the member of staff or team being visited.
- In the event of an evacuation each visitor is the responsibility of the person they are visiting. Each visitor must be safely escorted from the building and accounted for by a Fire Warden, who in turn can report this to the Evacuation Controller.
