03 March 2011

Third year History of Art and Museum Studies student, Rebecca Leary, will be appearing on BBC East Midlands News tonight, 3 March at 6.30 pm

As a result of completing an internship for an assessed module, Rebecca now volunteers at the National Trust property, Sudbury Hall. She was interviewed recently by the BBC to discuss the Sudbury Hall 'Attic 6 Project' which sees her on a regular basis conserving, cleaning and photographing delicate objects owned by the National Trust. Rebecca is also helping with their new exhibition 'From Playmobil to Puppy Love - Growing up in the 1970s.'

Programme Leader, Dr Emma Roberts, said

"The programme module gave Rebecca the spur to find a valuable internship. She gained an excellent placement at Sudbury Hall and was invaluable to her supervisors there. Following the internship, Rebecca was asked to continue her work at Sudbury and now demonstrates great expertise. Her skills and knowledge are now so considerable that she is being interviewed by the BBC. The programme team are very proud of her achievements".
