National Student Money Week 7 – 11 March
03 March 2011
LJMU’s Student Advice Team is organising a series of events as part of National Student Money Week (7 – 11 March)
LJMU, along with universities and colleges across the UK, is arranging activities to highlight the broad range of funding and financial advice that is available to students both before they start at university and while they are studying.
LJMU’s Student Advice Team will be holding a range of events and drop-in sessions in the Learning Resource Centres and you’ll be able to get advice on maximising your income, minimising expenditure, and making your money go further. Staff from the Graduate Development Centre will also be out and about, so you’ll be able to find out more about all things work and career-related too.
Lynne Condell, LJMU’s Student Funds Manager and Chairperson of the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) says:
“LJMU employs staff that are experts in all matters relating to finance and funding and we can offer you help and advice is available that is relevant to you and where you are in your studies. For example, we can help you plan ahead, give you a ‘wealth check’ or help you sort out your childcare or other student funding.
It is very important that you don’t wait until you are struggling before you come to see us. Many students get into a mess financially because they don’t seek advice early enough – never borrow your way out of debt, it is not an answer.”
