Image of cargo ship in OceanThis research fellowship of two years from May 2011 to April 2013 will support Professor Wang to collaborate with three overseas universities in North America, Europe and Asia in the area of shipping regulation appraisal.

Shipping is a complex international industry involving carriage of dangerous cargoes and people by various types and sizes of ships at sea. Recently there has been an increasing national/international recognition that the performance of shipping regulations needs to be reviewed on an urgent basis. This research will investigate the current status of implementing maritime regulations, develop and test a generic framework for studying shipping regulation implementation.

For further information about the research please contact Professor Wang on (231) 2445 or email j.wang@ljmu.ac.uk
