Chancellor of Thai University visits LJMU

Chancellor of Rajamangala University of Technology, Thailand, visits LJMU.

Dr Sathit Puttachaiyong, Chancellor of Rajamangala University of Technology, Krungthep, Thailand recently visited the Faculty of Education, Community and Leisure (ECL) at IM Marsh. The visit was designed to provide the Chancellor with an opportunity to meet members of Rajamangala University staff who are currently undertaking PhDs in the Faculty and also to discuss opportunities for partnership development.

Image of Dr Puttacaiyong with LJMU's Kate JohnstonECL Dean, Kate Johnston, welcomed Dr Puttachaiyong to LJMU, whilst Professor Philip Vickerman outlined the work of the Faculty, in particular staff from the centre for Tourism, Events and Food (TEF) who already have links and work with Thailand.

As a result of the meeting, ECL staff have been invited to visit Rajamangala University to develop the existing PhD links and also to further explore areas for partnership and development in tourism, events and food studies.
