Liverpool John Moores University v BBC Radio Merseyside
An 11-a-side charity football match has been organised between Liverpool John Moores University and BBC Radio Merseyside on Sunday 12 June at IM Marsh Campus, Aigburth, L17 6BD. Kick Off is 12 noon.
Kevin Jones aged 45, an ICT Senior Technician in the Faculty of Business and Law underwent surgery in January, and during the course of the operation he suffered a major stroke that seriously affected his mobility and speech. Kevin’s determination, resilience and overall fitness defied medical opinion and he is now making remarkable progress.
Kevin is now rehabilitating at home and is receiving speech and physiotherapy. The damage caused by a stroke can be widespread and long-lasting and it is still unclear how full his recovery will be. He is paralysed down his right side and may require the use of assistive aids and possible adaptations to the home.
All proceeds raised will go towards purchasing various aids and exercise equipment and to make any necessary adaptations to Kevin's home.
Please come along and support Kevin and the Team.
