Success for Liverpool's first Big Student Networking Night
15 June 2011
Liverpool John Moores University’s ‘Start-Up Network’ has taken part in the first collaborative business networking event between the four universities in the city.
The entrepreneurial students joined forces at a
business networking event organised by LENS (Liverpool Entrepreneurs Network Society) in conjunction with the student enterprise teams of LJMU, University of Liverpool, Liverpool Hope University and LIPA. The Big Student Networking Night was the first business networking event that was organised by the students of LENS, specifically for students who want to start a business and develop their entrepreneurial skills. he event included guest speakers from the local business community and a keynote address from Councillor Nick Small, Liverpool City Council’s cabinet member for employment and skills.
Dominique Aspey, LJMU’s Enterprise Network Manager, commented:
"It was a real pleasure to work with LENS students and colleagues from the other universities to bring this event together. The credit has to go to LENS for their hard work on delivering an event of this scale and attracting Councillor Small as the keynote speaker. The enthusiasm and buzz generated in the room shows that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in our student communities and we are already making plans to run a similar event soon".
