Staff PDPR Scheme refreshed for 2011
01 July 2011
LJMU's Personal Development and Performance Review Scheme (PDPR) is a key process in the management of the University and is linked to LJMU's Core Behavioural Values.
The Scheme will be monitored and audited on a regular basis to ensure that consistency of effective practice is embedded across the university.
The Scheme has been reviewed, refreshed and piloted with more than 300 members of staff across the University. The new approach has now been approved by LJMU's Senior Management Group and will be fully implemented this Autumn. It has been agreed that annual PDPRs will be carried out between the months of September and December. All staff full time, part time and Contract Research staff will participate. Interim PDPRs are regarded as flexible and may take many forms such as monthly one-to-one meetings or group meetings or a light touch PDPR after 6 months with line managers.
Following on from the annual PDPRs, Faculty and PVC Academic and Professional Development Plans will be collated during January which will then inform staff development priorities for the Academic Enhancement Unit feeding into the University's annual planning and budget process.
The Academic Enhancement Unit will be delivering refresher PDPR sessions as follows:
Conducting PDPR (for managers and designated reviewers)
7, 19 and 28 July, 29 September, 24 October 2011
This session will enable reviewers to practice the skills required for conducting PDPRs, so that positive working relationships are developed and maintained.
Preparing for PDPR (for all staff)
4 July, 27 September and 25 October 2011
This session will enable staff members to be confident and professional in preparing for their annual review.
