Director General of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Miles Templeman was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the UK economy and university business engagement.

He is a passionate supporter of enterprise and of the importance of strengthening the UK’s skills and education system. As an LJMU WoW Board Advisory member, Miles officially opened the Graduate Development Centre, stating that LJMU has set a template that should be copied the world over, providing industry with intelligent graduates with relevant skills.
Miles commented on the Fellowship:
"I’m honoured to receive this fellowship and pleased to see the progress LJMU continues to make preparing its graduates for the world of business. Many others have now followed LJMU’s example which is vital for our economic recovery."
Speaking about Miles’ conferment, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Brown said:
"We are pleased to welcome Miles as an Honorary Fellow. The key ingredient of our WoW strategic approach is the advice and backing that we are receiving from the members of our Advisory Board. This panel, not the University, determine the WoW skills, ensuring that they really do match the requirements of today's knowledge economy."
