LJMU Vice-Chancellor’s University of Liverpool Honour

Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Liverpool John Moores University, Professor Michael Brown has received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws from the University of Liverpool.
He was among seven esteemed figures to receive honorary degrees from the University this month, during their Graduation ceremonies at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
The Liverpool Daily Post reported the words of Professor Kelvin Everest, the University of Liverpool’s Pro Vice Chancellor and public orator, who said that the award reflected Professor Michael Brown’s impressive stewardship and the universities’ close links.
Professor Everest said: “He has guided his university to a position of strength and confidence from which to face the difficult challenges that confront all English universities at the present time.
"Liverpool John Moores University, the former Liverpool Polytechnic, became a university in 1992. Today, its mission is complementary to our own in the University of Liverpool, with both major institutions situated side by side right at the heart of the city".
