IET presents 'Around the World' competition
02 February 2012
The annual competition for presentation skills run by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is being held on Tuesday 28 February 2012 from 6.00pm.
Anyone between the ages of 18 and 26 is invited to give a 10 minute presentation to a small audience about engineering or technology related projects - this may be an idea that you have, it could be based on a final year or PhD project or another project on which you are working.
The competition provides an opportunity to present your work, and more importantly, to work on those all-important presentation skills. The presentations will be judged by a panel selected from prominent local academic and commercial organisations across Liverpool and Cheshire.
Two prizes will be awarded:
- £150 for best presentation
- £100 for runner up
The winner will also be given the opportunity to progress to the national stage of the competition, where presenters from around the UK will compete for a place in the global Present Around the World stage.
If you are interested, email Dr Andrew Tickle A.J.Tickle@TheIET.org with your name, contact information and a brief synopsis (150 words maximum) of your project.
If you would like a quick chat with someone before submitting, just email the local IET contact, Dr Alex Mason A.Mason1@ljmu.ac.uk for advice and help.
