WWF's Earth Hour: 31 March 2012

13 March 2012

The University has signed up to WWF’s Earth Hour which takes place on Saturday 31 March 2012.

WWF's Earth Hour is a simple idea that's quickly turned into a global phenomenon. Hundreds of millions of people turning off their lights for one hour, on the same night, all across the planet. It's about appreciating the brilliant world we all share – and how we need to protect it.

At 8.30pm on 31 March 2012, all non-essential lighting will be turned off for an hour.

Image of getting greener green footprintsThe hour is not about an hour of darkness, but about changing the way that we live which is more sustainable.
We would encourage all staff and students to sign up to Earth Hour and switch off the lights at home.
