Innovative research
Our research staff collaborate with leaders in the health sector including AstraZeneca and Pfizer and with other university research groups across the world including China, France, Spain, Slovakia, Iran and Thailand. Funding sources are varied; to name just a few, our staff have received funding from: the British Council, Research Council, Department of Health, European Commission and the Swiss government.
Recently opened, the Centre for Pharmacy Innovation sees the first research collaboration in the UK between a hospital, university and community pharmacist. The Centre is looking at improving how patients' medicines are managed and prescribed outside of hospital.
We are excited to be part of the first joined up approach to research of this kind in the UK. Through our partnership with Liverpool John Moores University, we have a real opportunity to improve the continuity of care after hospital discharge and change the face and quality of healthcare forever.
