I am a Senior Lecturer in Expert Performance and Coaching in the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences. My teaching responsibilities sit mainly within the Science and Football Programme across levels 4 - 6, as well as Sport Coaching at level 7.

I attained my PhD at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), examining perceptual-cognitive skill within sport. Specifically, my research focuses on identifying the key factors underlying pattern-recognition, anticipation and decision-making expertise across key stakeholders in football (players, coaches, scouts and officials). In addition, I am interested in examining talent pathways and finding ways to accelerate the development of expertise, through perceptual training interventions.

Prior to teaching in Higher Education and while completing my doctorate part-time, I worked within the applied setting for 7 years in the field of Performance Analysis, namely at Football Radar, and Everton Football Club, respectively. Alongside this, I partook in several bespoke LJMU projects for a range of elite organisations, including FIFA, UEFA, Nike, and the English Premier League.
