1. New university report cover sheet and guidance

   The Secretariat shares with you the latest update which came into force on Monday 4 December 2023, with immediate effect.

2. Join the alumni mentoring program

   LJMU Connect has launched the LJMU Mentoring Group to enable students, staff and alumni to develop meaningful mentoring connections within our LJMU community.

3. New mental wellbeing peer support

   We have a new team in place to help support any member of staff with their mental wellbeing. The LJMU Connectors are on hand to provide peer support and make sure colleagues have access to the appropriate resources and services.

4. New Subcontracting Policy approved

   The approved Subcontracting Policy sets out the requirement for subcontracting provision for degree apprenticeships delivered across the university.

5. Showcasing our new curriculum management system

   Academic staff and other colleagues are invited to attend demonstration sessions showcasing LJMUs new curriculum management system.

6. GRADitude Award

   For the first time, this year’s Amazing Teaching Awards from JMSU will feature a new award (the GRADitude Award) for a member of staff who had or is having a huge, positive impact on a final year student’s experience at LJMU.

7. Lockdown 2.0: Is time flying towards Christmas?

   One in four of us have experienced time as moving faster or slower than normal since the COVID pandemic began.

8. Honorary Fellow: Ian Meadows

   Ian Meadows received an Honorary Fellowship from LJMU on Friday 28 November 2014 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to business and the civic life of the city.

9. LJMU Climate Research Institute

   Staff are invited to attend a second workshop focussed on the proposed LJMU Climate Research Institute. It follows the successful design sprint session held in December, in which colleagues with research interests in the area met to begin scoping out the planned institute.

    Colleagues across LJMU have begun using Actus, our brand new online platform to support staff development.
