1. Sir Richard Lambert

   Read the oration for Sir Richard Lambert on the award of their Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University presented by Professor Frank Sanderson.

2. Professor Joe Rafferty CBE

   Joe is the Chief Executive of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and was chosen as one of LJMU’s Bicentenary year honorary fellows because of his impressive career in the NHS and the positive impact of his leadership in the field across Merseyside and beyond.

3. Professor Pat Shenton OBE (1945-2021)

   During her long career with LJMU, Pat was recognised nationally and internationally as an innovator who was progressive, courageous, and determined to enhance the life chances of young people. Up until her retirement in 2010 she was at the forefront of teacher education, schools, and community engagement; all with lasting legacies to this day.

   Unique Level 6 CPD programme that provides practitioners with a means to ensure earlier diagnosis of bowel cancer.

7. Book in review: Using Simulations for Education, Training and Research (Dieckmann (ed))

   Simulation-based educators should read this book, particularly those who are involved in designing programmes of training or who are responsible for designing the simulator environment and purchasing equipment.

8. Louise Shepherd CBE

   Louise is the Chief Executive of Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and has a distinguished NHS career spanning more than 30 years. In 2023, she became an honorary fellow of LJMU in recognition of her transformative, visionary leadership in healthcare for the benefit of young people.

9. Lilly Crisp

   Lilly is an inspiring media production student who aims to break down barriers in the movie industry and is inspired by trailblazing women in film, and her own family too. She’s also a dedicated volunteer, having raised money and given her time to various charities in Teeside. In 2023, her volunteering work was recognised as she was awarded a British Citizen Youth Award.

10. Professor Clare Milsom

    From geology lecturer to Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, Clare joined the polytechnic as it prepared to become a university and has followed the journey of LJMU from its beginnings in the early 1990s to present day. She is passionate about the transformative power of education.
