1. Honorary Fellowships and Corporate Awards

   Nominations are now invited for individuals and organisations to be considered for Honorary Fellowships and Awards.

2. Domestic abuse: better safeguarding can aid prosecution

   New research suggests domestic abuse victims are better served by schemes which prioritise safeguarding over prosecution.

3. Sport science students make an impact with nearly 15,000 hours of placements

   From community sports clubs that support people with special educational needs to premier league football clubs, 173 students have undertaken 14,730 hours of work-based placements this academic year.

4. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

5. Aurora Women's Leadership Programme reopens to applicants

   More places are available on the Advance HE Aurora Womens Leadership Programme.

6. Training for managers: disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with coaching and training specialists; Result CIC (Community Interest Company) and are pleased to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) the opportunity to participate in a half day Training for Managers of Staff with Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health, workshop.

   We need you to help us make our summer graduation ceremonies a success and give our students the celebrations they so richly deserve.

8. Staff Car Parking Update

   Following a recent review of LJMU staff car parking provision, the university will continue to subsidise staff car parking until 31 August 2023.

9. Residential Success for Children in Care

   LJMU welcomed 25 young people in care to their annual Year 10 Residential aimed at giving the Year 10 students a real taste of life at University.

10. LJMU relaunches campaign for respect on campus

    LJMU management is relaunching its Respect Always campaign with a lunch and town hall event on March 2.
