1. Students raise £10,290 for Student Minds

   Final year undergraduates have raised £10,290 for Student Minds by completing the National Student Survey, well on the way to our £12,000 fundraising target.

2. Remembering Eleanor Rathbone

   Around 12 months after delivering her Roscoe Lecture on Eleanor Rathbone, Dr Susan Cohen again joined staff and students from LJMU for a special event at Speaker's House in London.

3. Undergraduate teacher training at LJMU comes top in the North West

   LJMU has been placed 5th best in the country and top in the North West for Undergraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provision in the latest edition of the Good Teacher Training Guide.

4. Times Higher Award shortlisting for ‘star-shattering’ research project

   New technology using Artificial Intelligence alongside the famous Liverpool Telescope (LT), has been shortlisted for a Times Higher Education Award for Research Project of the Year 2017.

5. PCC praises LJMU for raising awareness of domestic abuse support

   LJMU are signed up to the Domestic Abuse Workplace Scheme, led by the Police and Crime Commissioner's office, and more workplace champions are being sought.

6. LJMU on hand to ease NHS burden on endoscopy demand

   Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy in the UK is at its highest and continues to rise, LJMU is now aiming to meet this gap in patient need by supporting the delivery of a new course.

7. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) – 17th May 2021

   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) aims to raise awareness of discrimination and violence against people within the LGBTIQ+ community, to drive positive change.

8. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

   The Liverpool Echo's annual '30 under 30' recognises the young people who are making their mark on our city region.

10. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

    On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.
