2. Collaborating with the chemical and shipping industry for a technology-driven low carbon supply chain

   LJMU recently brought together representatives from the chemical and shipping industry to discuss innovative solutions to the sector’s supply chain.

3. Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students open for applications

   The second round of paid Discovery Internships this semester are open until midnight on Sunday 17 December 2023. Interviews will take place before the end of January 2024 and the internships will begin from early February 2024 (start dates may vary for each role).

   The annual survey and audit of teaching space will take place across the university between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday 23 to Friday 27 October 2023.

5. LJMU joins Higher Education, Transnational Education (TNE) mission to Vietnam and Cambodia

   During the mission, LJMU were able to showcase their University offerings, meet with the UK Ambassador to Vietnam, Gareth Ward, and hold business to business meetings to ignite discussions surrounding the development of transnational education opportunities.

6. LJMU leads partnership with technology hub to support and innovate region’s businesses

   LJMU received a £2m government grant to help SMEs, and has used the funding to partner with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to help transform regional industry through the use of a new Business Launch Centre (MTC@LJMU) based at LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

7. MA WRITING students offer short and powerful insights into life in Liverpool

   Liverpool 500 was part of the LJMU MA Writing program and has been shared with Liverpool in Australia a collaboration which forms part of LJMUs Liverpool 2 Liverpool project with University of Wollongongs Liverpool Campus in Sydney.

8. AI can spot wounded wild animals and poachers in camera trap footage

   AI from Liverpool John Moores University is being used to identify animals, plot their movements and spot wounds in a bid to help conservationists, reports New Scientist.

9. Annual survey and audit of teaching space to take place this February

   The survey will be conducted between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday 5 to Friday 9 February 2024.

10. Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair – 10 March, 12-3pm, Student Life Building

    Students from any programme or level of study are invited to attend this fair to meet and network with 50+ employers offering internships, placements and graduate roles.
