1. The power of Staff Networks. Join and work with us to shape university policy

   Our staff networks have been integral in progressing certain policies for LJMU staff, including on maternity leave and menopause.

2. Training for managers/personal tutors on disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   The aim of the programme is to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors further support and guidance, in relation to; operating more confidently and effectively, whilst developing themselves and their staff/students positively.

3. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

4. LJMU PE, School Sport and Physical Activity Network Event

   This face-to-face event is for primary and secondary teachers, Sport/PE students, trainee teachers and sports coaches working in schools. The event will: Disseminate the research activity and projects across LJMU PESSPA network Reflect upon the findings and recommendations of the Ofsted subject PE report series (Sept 2023) Celebrate collaborative activities/events.

5. Equality, diversity and inclusion in journalism teaching conference

   The journalism department is holding a free one-day conference on EDI in Journalism education on June 26th. Although the conference is geared towards Journalism education, the conference is open to educators from other subject areas who will be welcome to share their research and best practice as well as benefit from transferable, practical ideas around embedding EDI in teaching, learning and assessment and creating an inclusive environment for students.

   Attend our Get Into Teaching Online Open Day to ask questions to our academics and admissions teams to learn more about how you can begin your teacher training journey.

8. MA Art in Science exhibition - 'The Speculative Herbarium'

   Despite a long history of preserving plants in herbariums, medicinal plants are often underrepresented in public-facing educational institutions such as museums. The Speculative Herbarium intertwines scientific practices used behind the scenes in herbaria with visual art and poetry, offering an insight into the important preservation work occurring in herbaria.

   The Environmental Sustainability and Energy Team at LJMU have received funding from Cycling UK to carry out a number of events for the Big Bike Revival.
