Jane Townend - Head of Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation

Jane’s role is to lead and manage the knowledge exchange team and to support and develop knowledge exchange and transfer activities across the University by fostering and brokering relationships with external stakeholders. The team and Jane are also responsible for the commercialisation of innovation and inventions from within LJMU.

Pete’s role is to provide a range of innovation, intellectual property and commercialisation support services to identify, protect, and exploit ideas, breakthrough research, and inventions generated by our staff and postgraduate students. The goal is to facilitate the transformation of these ideas, breakthrough research and inventions into products, services, or intellectual property assets that solve real world problems.

Kerrie works with colleagues to proactively grow LJMU’s knowledge exchange (KE) and enterprise activities. She provides central support to coordinate knowledge exchange income generating activity and has a particular focus on Innovate UK and industry-led funded projects amongst others.

Claire is responsible for the operational function including the development of processes and systems for the Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation team. Her role also covers a range of reporting activities for RIS, including monthly and annual returns and departmental reports.
Viki Le Quelenec - Operations Support Officer for Research and Knowledge Exchange

Viki provides direct support to users of key University systems (with a focus on Symplectic and GaP). She plays a key role in the development of processes and reporting across RIS, as well as developing training materials for the wider academic and professional service community.
Cheryl Lamont - Contracts and Project Officer

Cheryl supports colleagues by processing, maintaining, and monitoring all documentation in relation to knowledge exchange activity across the department, assisting with the requirements to set up commercial and industry related projects. This includes coordinating with finance, legal departments, faculties and external organisations, supporting the development from cradle to grave. Cheryl is also responsible for raising invoices against projects and responding to finance queries along with record management of the departments legal agreements and legal reviews.
