Become a student advocate

Advocating for LJMU

We currently have over 100 fully-trained and DBS-checked Student Advocates working for the Outreach Team and helping promote the University to prospective students.

All our Advocates are current LJMU students who support the activities the Outreach Team deliver in schools and colleges, including delivering student life talks in which their personal experiences of living in Liverpool and studying at LJMU prove to be effective ways to engage Year 12 and 13 pupils. Advocates also have the opportunity to devise and deliver taster sessions promoting their own subjects which gives excellent experience to boost their employability.

Advocates are also an invaluable part of activity at the University, including at Open Days, enthusing prospective students about our courses and the benefits of progressing to higher education in general.

Student Advocates work shifts which fit around their studies and earn a very competitive rate of pay whilst supporting the team.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact our team – we’d be happy to help.
