Redeployment vacancies
LJMU has a responsibility to offer suitable alternative employment opportunities to employees who are at risk of redundancy and have 12 months service at LJMU. This duty commences as soon as notice has been served and continues throughout the notice period. For this reason the University has a redeployment process which is designed to support staff to find suitable alternative employment.
Employment legislation requires that vacancies must be offered to suitable redeployees who can demonstrate the knowledge, skills or experience for the post. For this reason all posts are advertised only to redeployment candidates in the first instance.
This service enables the University to retain valuable skills and knowledge and enabled staff who are on the redeployment register to continue to enjoy the benefits of working at LJMU and have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills further.
