    Rio Boothe is an LJMU student and a para-athlete. He competes in athletics with the Manchester Harriers and with the LJMU Athletics Team. He’s a real role model for others with disabilities and is striving to raise awareness about the challenges disabled people face when trying to access sport.

In her role as a lecturer with LJMU’s School of Engineering she works alongside colleagues to promote inclusivity and diversity within the university and by connecting with key maritime organisations, both in the region and internationally, to bring about positive change across the sector.

  6. Electric Machines and Drives Group

    The Electric Machines and Drives Research Group conducts research into: variable-speed electric drive systems, electrical power generation plants for renewable energy sources and power electronic converters for interfacing the variable-speed drives and generators.
