   LJMU hosted events with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers exploring diversity and inclusion in engineering and technology skills.

   An LJMU academic is leading a Neuroscience Group (SANG) that is revolutionising how we view the basic human sense of touch.

5. International endorsement of sport strength and conditioning internship at LJMU

   The International Universities Strength and Conditioning Association has recognised LJMU for the quality of its Performance Sport Internship Scheme.

6. Art and Design students travel the world

   The annual Susan Cotton and Sue Dunthorne Travel awards are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the school, designed to enhance students personal and career development through travel and impactful experiences. Successful applicants for the Susan Cotton Awards receive a budget of £1500 to spend on the trip of a life to their choice of destinations, while the Sue Dunthorne Travel Bursary is an award of £500 to travel anywhere in the UK or overseas.

7. A month of free wellbeing events for students and staff this February

   From walking tours around the city, crafts and bibliotherapy workshops, LJMU has a month’s worth of events for all students and staff to get involved in this February.

8. Reflecting on honest conversations about race and equality

   Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Power and one of his reciprocal mentors, Labour MP for Liverpool, Riverside, Kim Johnson, reflect on some of their discussions over the past 18 months; how their upbringing has shaped them into who they are today, if Reciprocal Mentoring works and what learnings they will take with them beyond the programme.

9. Validation and Periodic Programme Reviews

   Academic colleagues are invited to express an interest in becoming a panel member or chair for our Validation and Periodic Programme Reviews.

10. Students learn traditional techniques to create sustainable fabrics and garments

    Throughout the academic year more than 120 undergraduate, MA and PhD students from a range of disciplines across the Liverpool School of Art and Design have learnt a variety of traditional skills from leatherwork to weaving.
