  1. His Honour Dr David Lynch

    Dr Lynch has been part of the fabric of the university for over 50 years, as a student, as a lecturer, as the Liaison Judge for the School of Law, as an Honorary Fellow, a mature student and Visiting Research Fellow.

  2. Professor Zara Quigg

    Professor Zara Quigg is one of the youngest professors at LJMU and a behavioural epidemiologist at our Public Health Institute. Her zeal and energy have placed her at the heart of the fight for better public health here on Merseyside.

  3. Dr Sasha Kosanic

    Dr Sasha Kosanic is an interdisciplinary scientist whose research focuses on answering complex questions about climate change and the impact it is having on nature and societies. She is also an advocate for inclusion in education, as a former Paralympian and a scientist living with Cerebral Palsy, she looks to highlight inequalities wherever she finds them and to drive forwards change in research and academia.

  4. Julia Midgley

    Julia is an award-winning artist who specialises in documentary drawing and reportage. As an LJMU veteran of more than 25 years before retiring in 2013, Julia is our Bicentenary year Artist in Residence, capturing special moments through watercolour sketches to help record this significant moment in our history.

  5. Faye Mills

    Faye is a 2023 graduate of LJMU, having studied law. She had, at times, a challenging experience at university, discovering she had dyslexia and a degenerative condition that impacted on her memory and conversation. But she showed resilience, courage and determination, with support from her family and LJMU, to successfully complete her studies.

  6. Sam Scragg

    Sam is a Class of 2023 graduate and will start work with our Student Futures team in September 2023, after enjoying working alongside them during his studies.

  7. Abdelrahman Elwan

    Abdelrahman is a third-year biomedical sciences student. He came to LJMU from Egypt through the International Foundation Year and worked as a student mentor for fellow international students, to provide support and advice to help others settle into life in Liverpool.

  8. Phil Ossai

    Phil is a graduate of Liverpool Business School, having studied business, management and marketing. He now runs his own personal branding agency, OSSAI, which is going from strength-to-strength amplifying the voices of Black and diverse founders and CEOs.

  9. Pete Dolan

    Pete is the Outreach Manager at LJMU, responsible for building relationships with schools and colleges and for delivering the university’s sustained widening access initiatives, targeting under-represented learners and disadvantaged communities. In 2023 he celebrated 25 years of working at LJMU.

  10. Paul Killen

    Paul celebrated his 25th anniversary of working at LJMU in 2023, our Bicentenary year, and in 2024 will reach a marvellous milestone of 40 years working in education and will retire from the profession.
