1. The power of Staff Networks. Join and work with us to shape university policy

   Our staff networks have been integral in progressing certain policies for LJMU staff, including on maternity leave and menopause.

2. New Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion appointed

   LJMU has appointed six Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion (ADDI), representing each of the five faculties and professional services, to support the university in driving forward the diversity and inclusion agenda.

   LJMU is proud of its place in Liverpool and we are at the beating heart of almost everything that happens in the region.  However, with that presence comes a responsibility to be mindful and aware of our potential impact. In partnership with the other universities in the city, LJMU has embarked on a number of initiatives to work with local residents.

5. Pandemics and public health: have we found our new normal? - Conan Leavey and Graeme Mitchell, Public Health Institute, LJMU

   It was only a relatively short time ago - in March this year - that the World Health Organisation declared Covid-19 a pandemic. We know now that it is likely to be many, many months before the UK pronounces its outbreak over; and certainly years before it is over globally.

6. Students at the Heart Conference 2024: submissions now open

   Submissions are now open for the Students at the Heart Conference and the theme for 2024 will be ‘community.’

7. The People Plan for staff

   The People Plan 2030 outlines six strategic themes to create engaged staff, central to LJMU’s success.

8. Euro-wide skills network launched for maritime industry

   LJMU is the UK partner in educating maritime project Skillsea

9. Passion for gender equity inspires international partnership to promote Women in Science

   Women scientists at LJMU have won a grant to share our institutional learnings on gender equality with partner institutions in Brazil.

10. In memoriam Professor Peter Fowler

    Former colleague Tony Hughes has shared a tribute about Professor Fowler’s life and incredible contributions in the field of digital education.
