Sir Jon Murphy, the Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, who retires this month after a career of more than 40 years as a serving police officer, is to join LJMU’s Centre for Advanced Policing Studies as Professor of Advanced Policing Studies.
The university was officially presented with the award at a ceremony at the city’s Liver Building.
The prestigious titles are awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to society, or an outstanding achievement by an individual in a given field, resonating with the ethos and values of the university and the city of Liverpool.
It is with great sadness that the university marks the passing of Lady Grantchester, Honorary Fellow, and eldest daughter of the university namesake the late Sir John Moores.
