1. LJMU hosts first ever Para Pentathlon training day in the UK

   25 Athletes from across the UK attended the first ever Para Laser Sport training event at LJMU’s Sport Building this week.

5. Researcher gains national coverage for work on human trafficking

   LJMU’s Dr Daniel Silverstone, Director of Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies, has delivered a series of national media interviews related to his research on human trafficking.

6. LJMU rated highly in Teaching Excellence Framework

   LJMU has been awarded a gold rating for student outcomes and silver overall in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

7. Network launched to connect sport science experts with PE teachers and sports coaches

   Experts from LJMUs Physical Activity Exchange have launched a new network so that they can better share knowledge and support the professional development of school PE teachers and sports coaches within the Liverpool City Region.

8. Battle of the Atlantic 80th anniversary events led by LJMU

   This month Liverpool will play host to a swathe of commemorative events marking its links with WWII’s Battle of the Atlantic, 80 years on. LJMU’s staff and students across its Drama, History and Maritime programmes will play a role in marking this milestone anniversary

9. LJMU fashion and broadcast staff raise career aspirations of local schoolchildren

   Cathy Reilly, fashion design and manufacture technologist, and Bradley Hessey, an experienced broadcast technologist , joined schoolchildren from St Leo’s School in Whiston during their Ambition Week.
