1. Updated Policy: Records Retention Schedule

   The updated policy outlines how long we need to keep records, where they are held, and when they should be reviewed for destruction.

2. Discovery of a New Galaxy in Cosmic Neighbourhood

   Astronomers, including Professor Maurizio Salaris from the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University, used the Hubble Space Telescope to photograph the globular star cluster NGC 6752 (located 13,000 light-years away in our Milky Way's halo).

   LJMU has been recognised with the Athena Swan Silver Award for the university's commitment to promoting gender equality.

4. New partnership to promote skin cancer awareness to school pupils

   LJMU's School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences (PBS) has launched a new initiative to engage, educate and enhance local communities.

5. Professor's shock at destruction of Earth's habitats

   Leading primatologist Serge Wich has expressed his shock after contributing to research which suggests only 3% of the world's land remains ecologically intact with healthy populations of all its original animals.

   To better understand how much we all know about data protection matters, a short staff survey has been put together.
