How to Succeed in the Media and Creative Industries | Sixth Form and FE College Careers Event

For Sixth Form/Further Education students and Media and Careers teachers.  LJMU applicants and current students are also welcome to attend. The Media Industry offers exciting career paths to all talented individuals. Is this for you or your students?

In its 9th year, this event will be of interest to anyone who wishes to study or have a career in the Media (Journalism, Television, Film, Online, Digital Media Platforms) in technical, creative or production roles.

Hear from, and network with, our panel of guest speakers from across the media industry who will be sharing their experiences and tips on how to succeed in this competitive industry, including:

  • Ngunan AdamuProducer/Presenter BBC Radio Merseyside, and accomplished journalist and broadcaster.  Graduated from LJMU’s Journalism degree.                                                                                                     
  • Liverpool Film Office Hear about productions that film in Liverpool and the future job roles needed locally to meet the demands of the Film and TV industry.                                                                                                                                        
  • Jim Page Experienced Editor with BBC and ITV Drama, BAFTA Connect member.    
  • Dan DobinsonLA Productions Head of Scripted Development and Senior Script Editor.  Graduated from LJMU’s Creative Writing and Film Studies degree as well as our Screenwriting Masters programme.

There will also be an opportunity to take a tour of Liverpool Screen School, engage in a Taster Lecture, meet some of our current students, and learn more about our programmes of study:  

  • Film Studies   |   Media Production  |   Journalism  |   Sports Journalism
  • Performance and Production (NEW Production, Media and Drama degree for September 2025 - subject to validation)

Lunch will also be provided.
